Heroes and Role Models.

Heroes represent the human yearning for hope that transcends people’s immediate lives and contributes to their sense of meaning and purpose.

PART A

You are to create a presentation that tells a story about a day in the life of a true hero. The story must demonstrate your understanding of what a true hero is and it may or may not feature you as the main character. You will need to negotiate the mode of presentation with your teacher. Some possibilities include;

  1. A collage (Poster) to depict your understanding of a true hero

  1. A comic strip to depict your understanding of a true hero

  1. A photo story to depict your understanding of a true hero

PART B

Answer the following questions in no more than 300-words.

  1. What is your definition of a hero or role model?

  1. What personal qualities and values does your hero have that makes them a true hero? Give an example from your presentation to help explain your answer.

  1. What is the story about? (Theme, plot, introduction of main character, setting, complications and resolutions that build a climax and conclusion) You can create and present a storyboard for this using Myths and legends story creator or story cube.
  2. Compare and contrast your hero's characteristics to one of the names listed below in List A or B.  Write a small passage providing information explaining why the person you have chosen is considered a hero or a role model.
